A fire broke out at the Federal Ministry of Works in Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos Island on Tuesday, October 28.
The inferno is said to have started at about 5pm and firemen and security personnel were called to the scene to battle it.
The fire is said to have gutted three offices on the ground floor of the building and is believed to have been caused by a refrigerator which developed an electrical fault.

The incident has been confirmed by the Director of the Lagos State Fire Service, Mr. Rasak Fadipe who said:
“…we are already battling the fire. The fire truck from the Onikan fire station arrived the scene with 10,000 litres of water and the firefighting operation is still on.”
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the fire started from a refrigerator. Three offices have been severely damaged and we have prevented surrounding buildings from being affected.”
More details to come.
