Introducing “Big Brother Africa: The Chase”! 28 New African Housemates Head to South Africa

It’s almost here! Are you as anxious as we are? Because Big Brother Africa season 8 is right around the corner. This season has aptly been titled ‘The Chase’, we can’t wait to find out what that’s all about when it launches on Sunday, May 26, 2013. And, it’s going to feature 28 new housemates from 14 countries all competing  for the scrumptious $300,000 and of course, a few twists and turns.

IK Osakioduwa will still be returning as  its host and here’s what he has to say about the new season.

Manchester City To Pay Mancini $7.5m (N1.2bn) For Sacking Him

Manchester City will pay Roberto Mancini an initial figure of $7.5 million (N1.2 billion) for sacking him as coach of the club, Goal.com has reported.
Mancini was sacked by the Premier League team on Monday after the club management said “the Club has failed to achieve any of its stated targets this year, with the exception of qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.”
The Italian coach had four years remaining on his contract but the pay-off will be limited to 12 months’ salary should he get another job immediately.
The former Inter Milan coach is set to receive an initial sum of £7.5 million, which will be topped up for every month that he is out of work. He helped Manchester City win their first Premier League title last season but failed to win a trophy this season.
City lost 1-0 in the FA Cup final to relegation threatened Wigan Athletic on Saturday, but have already secured automatic qualification for next season’s Champions League as their second spot in the Premier League table is already assured.
Several other assistant and junior team coaches are also expected to be relieved of their duties in what is expected to be a major re-organisation at the Manchester side.
Mancini is already reportedly a target for French club, Monaco, as well as Italian club, Napoli.City are yet to announce a permanent replacement for the 48-year-old although Malaga coach, Manuel Pellegrini, is highly tipped as the Italian’s successor.

Mr. Shem Obafaye, the former Lagos State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, who made the “My Oga at the top” mantra a phenomenon, has finally resumed in his new office as Oyo State Commandant of the NSCDC.


Obafaye, who was replaced by Mr. Adesuyi Clement from Oyo State Command after his now famous interview on Channels Television breakfast programme ‘Sunrise’ daily about two months ago, was during the period without a portfolio until last week when he was asked to replace Adesuyi officially.

Obafaye, while resuming duty at his new post, promised to discharge his duties with every sense of responsibility. “I am determined to serve in Oyo State and I know God will help me,” he said

Big Brother Africa Winner Karen Igho Gives Quick Tips on How to Survive the Big Brother House

With the new “Big Brother Africa- The Chase” just around the corner, the crew at Africa Magic tracked the BBA: Amplified Winner, Karen Igho to get a few pointers on how she survived the Big Brother house and emerged a winner.
When asked how to evade eviction, she said,

“LOL, you can’t! Everyone goes through that chopping board or hot seat. If you are good they nominate you and if you are bad, the same thing happens, so just keep it real and leave everything to God.”

And, when asked how to survive the Big Brother House, she said,

“Nice question, to be honest I don’t know. God kept me going”.

 They went to take about a few other things, but her parting words and advice to new housemates was:

“be real because Africa is watching and they can tell when you are faking it. Don’t go with a game plan, let God’s plan unveil for you, it is what it is at the end of the day. Good luck to this season’s housemates and may the best man or woman win.”

They agreed the loser would have to serve as a female flight attendant on the winner's airline.

Justin Bieber is totally taking full advantage of the fact that he is away from home.
The 19-year-old singer,who is too young to legally drink in Los Angeles – tweeted a picture from the wilds of Africa which shows him supping on a can. Wearing a dorky backwards baseball cap he is clearly enjoying his ale, licking his lips at the thought of the next slurp.
He captioned the picture: “Beers in the jungle.”  The picture caused one teetotal fan to tweet concerns over his lifestyle.

The worried Beleiber wrote: “I don’t really agree about drinking but Justin ur my world! Just don’t drink too much and enjoy life, cuz we love u too much.”

OMG! Jay-Z's Exact Lookalike Spotted In A Photo Taken In 1939

A photo of man bearing a striking resemblance to Jay-Z has surfaced, and if it wasn't for the
fact that it was taken in 1939, you'd swear it was JayZ himself.
Take a closer look at the picture after the cut..
The photo is “Harlem Loiterers” by the street photographer Sid Grossman and it was stumbled across recently by a curator at the New York Public Library’s Schomburg Center for Research In Black Culture.

And the New York Public Library swears, the old photo of the guy who looks scarily like Jay-Z really is an unretouched, un-Photoshopped image from 1939.

“We’re 100 percent certain it’s legitimate,” Adenike Olanrewaju, a library spokeswoman, said on Friday.
Since the photo hit the internet, different conspiracy, theories bordering on Jay-Z re-incarnating has spread on the internet.

The man in the picture is staring down the camera lens with a distinct sense of attitude and intent.
Best of all, the man from the past has exactly the same poise and swagger as our very own present
day JayZ.

On account of Jay-Z being 43 years old, the man in the photo is of course not him. Or what do you think?

Bizarre: Man Kills And Hides His Mother's Corpse In His House For 10 Years

A 62 year old retired vice-principal has been arrested by the Imo state police for allegedly killing his mother and hiding her corpse in his house since 2003.

Dr. Chimezie Osuigwe was arrested after the embalmed body of his mother was discovered hidden in a cupboard in his house yesterday Monday April 14th by another family member. Continue... Police say the body of the woman, Lucy Osuigwe, who was declared missing in 2003, 'was found in a large cupboard inside a shrine in a private room in a circumstance depicting ritual practice.'

The police believe the retired educationist and devotee of the Guru Maharaji sect, killed his mother for ritual purposes. Dr. Chimezie Osuigwe is being held for first degree murder.
